Alessandro De Vita was born in Naples (Italy) in 1979. He graduated at“I.C.R.A.” (international center for the research of the actor, training under the guide of Michele Monetta and studying Lecoq, Decroux, and Feldenkrais Techniques. He attended several national and international stages and workshops with Hanon Reiznikov, Judith Malina, Peter Clough, Marise Flach, Elena Kuzina, Polina Klimovitskaya, and Marco De Marinis, Thomas Richards and many others. In the 2006 he founded the Company for theatrical research“I Pedoni dell’Aria” (“The Strolls in the Air”, name inspired by Ionesco’s Le Piéton de l’air, 1963), for which he works as playwright, director and video-artist. With I pedoni dell’aria he was finalist in national and international prizes like“ Linea d’ombra 2011”. His works were presented at Jerzy Grotowski Institut, Wroclaw, Poland, Tanzhaus NRW, Dusseldorf, Germany, Festival de Primteps, Hammam-Sousse,Tunisi, Summerblut Festival, Koln, Germany and many others. His productions were supported by national and international institutions like GAI, Young Italian Artists, Pact Zollverein, Essen, Germany, Galleria Toledo, stabile d’Innovazione, Naples, Italy, Freequence Inverse Festival, Tanzhaus NRW, Düsseldorf, Germany, Sommerblut Festival, Köln, Germany. He has worked with artists like Neil Leonard, American musician and sound designer, actually professor at Barkley College of Music, in Boston, and with Morgan Nardi, choreographer and performer working in Düsseldorf, Germany. He has worked as videoartist for national and international musicians like Silicon Dust, Idrioema, Casamatta, Ludovico Van Festival, The Collettivo. His videos were chosen for international festivals and competitions like Art Exchange Norway, Oslo Screen Festival, Magmart Festival, Napoli Film Festival, World Dance Day and some others. At the moment he is working as director, playwright and video-artist for the Holy Hole Kompanie, in Düsseldorf, Germany.
